Hillside Kids

Kids programming is available at every weekend service for birth through 5th grade. Every week in Hillside Kids, a group of incredible leaders will talk to your child about what it looks like to know Jesus! We do this by singing worship songs, teaching stories from the Bible, and having group activities and discussions that help your child apply the truth of Scripture to their own life as they grow close to Jesus.

What if it's my first time at Hillside?

On your first visit, you can make your way to the Guest Services Desk in the lobby outside of the main auditorium. You can also enter the kids’ area and look for one of our helpful volunteers with a nametag! At either place, a volunteer will greet you, help you register your family so that you can check in your children, and lead you to your child’s classroom.

How can I check in my kids?

We ask that parents check in their kids (birth—5th grade) each Sunday and receive a name tag with matching pick-up tag. This helps our staff and leaders provide a safe and secure environment for your children. Each week, you will use your phone number on any available iPad in the Kids Area to check in your children and receive name tags.

What should my child expect in a Hillside Kids environment?

Each Sunday, your child will experience fun, friends, and Jesus! We create an experience for each age and stage so that your child will experience the love and truth of God in an age-appropriate way. They will have an opportunity to worship, hear a true story from the Bible, and apply that truth through activities, games, and age-appropriate discussion.

What will my kid learn?

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and the final authority for all matters of faith and practice. We believe kids can learn from the truth of Scripture as their understanding and faith in God grows.

In addition to teaching the Bible every week, we have three core truths that we focus on in each phase of a child's development.

In our Early Childhood and Preschool environments, your child will learn that:

"God Loves Me."
"Jesus wants to be my friend forever."
"God made me."

In our Elementary environments, your child will learn that:

"I can trust God no matter what."
"I need to make the wise choice."
"I should treat others the way I want to be treated."

How will I know where to go?

We have volunteers available at every turn, so just look for someone with a nametag and friendly smile. They're here to help!

What if my child is interested in baptism or has questions about baptism?

Baptism Class is an opportunity for you and your child to come join our team as we dive into the Bible and see what God tells us about knowing Him, what it means to put our faith and trust in Him, and why we believe that baptism is an important next step as a Christ-follower.

We ask that at least one parent or guardian attend this class with your child. Additionally, childcare is not provided but siblings are more than welcome to join in the class as well.
