No one becomes more patient by gritting their teeth, and no one produces joy on command. The fruit of the Spirit grows as we remain in Jesus, the way a branch bears fruit only while it stays connected to the vine. What He grows in us does not stay contained; it overflows into how we treat the people right in front of us.
